Long Time No See

Hello stranger!

It’s been a long time since I’ve made any updates. As a matter of fact, let’s see when I last wrote to you…

Oh my God, has it really been more than a year since my last entry?! Ugh! I knew it had been a while but I just didn’t realize… I got so busy, what with emigrating and all… Well.! No more excuses.

Let’s catch up, shall we?

Let me just give you the headlines. I promise I will fill in the blanks later, but I just want to give you a quick glimpse into the last year.

· We sold our Oklahoma house in the most miraculous manner.

· We shipped the stuff we wanted to save.

· We hauled two humans, two cats and four suitcases to Mexico.

· We stayed in a really amazing bed and breakfast for 10 days while we shopped for a place to live.

· We moved our meager possessions into our new apartment.

· We started to learn Spanish.

· We had our first medical scare and made an amazing discovery about health care here.

· We said goodbye to Trudy the warrior princess.

· We found mental health support.

· We started figuring out our routines.

· We started making friends.

· We started venturing out a bit.

· We started meeting people who are newer to Mexico than we are.

Those are the highlights so far. Of course, there are far too many details to get into in one sitting so we’ll have to take this journey in chunks. A lot has happened in the last year.

Ok, it’s a date!

I have an idea. Let’s have a weekly coffee date, shall we? Drink whatever you want, sit in the comfiest place you can, and I will tell you all the stories. I do love telling stories, after all. I have missed chatting with you and I can’t wait to see you next week.

Hasta luego!
